Trainings/Workshops

WAO organises minimum 7 days to 3 month training programmes on natural farming , drone technology, vermi-compost, hydroponics, Precision Agriculture, Post harvest technology, Biotechnology, Nanotechnology, AI & Machine Learning, Saffron Production etc. for students to learn new skills, improve their existing skills and develop expertise in specific areas. By attending these workshops, students can gain practical knowledge and hands-on experience that they may not have access to in the classroom.

Kisan Mela/Farmer Fair

RAWE PROGRAMME

The Rural Agricultural Work Experience (RAWE) program serves as a flagship initiative for final-year Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (B.Sc. Ag.) students during their last semester. The primary objective of RAWE, introduced by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), is to enhance the self-confidence of agricultural graduates by refining their professional skills. During their two-week stay in rural villages, students reside with local households, offering them a unique opportunity to reconnect with farmers and gain valuable firsthand field experience. Additionally, the RAWE modules foster significant positive transformations in students' mindsets, perspectives, personality traits, as well as their managerial and entrepreneurial abilities. Through these immersive experiences, students not only build a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the agricultural sector but also develop empathy and respect for the farming community.

Eligible students and faculty members will be evaluated based on their research accomplishments and biodata. The selection committee will carefully review each nominee's body of work, considering the originality, impact, and relevance of their contributions to their respective fields. Nominees are encouraged to submit comprehensive portfolios that highlight their achievements, including publications, presentations, and any innovative projects they have spearheaded. Award recipients will receive not only a certificate of recognition but also a monetary grant to support their future research endeavors.
